Olympic skater Rosalynn Sumners to wed in style April 25th as Anne sings her down the aisle! This weekend Anne embarks upon an exciting one-stop "tour" in Palm Springs. Her friend Rosalynn Sumners’ fairytale wedding to Bob Kain is to be a three-day fête with family and guests (the list reads like a World of Sports hall of fame!) gathered at La Quinta, a lush resort nestled at the foot of the lovely Santa Rosa Mountains, among fragrant orange trees and bougainvillea.
Anne and husband, after an intensive recording session in LA for her next CD, will be joining Rosalynn, Bob and guests for cocktails Friday evening at Arnold Palmer’s. Saturday will be devoted to swimming, tennis and golf at the resort, followed by a wedding party-only rehearsal and dinner planned for late afternoon and evening. Anne will be trying out her mike and sound equipment for the three songs she and Rosalynn have chosen for the outdoor ceremony and for the couple’s first dance at the reception afterwards. And Jim Brickman will be checking out the piano and his mike to pair up with Anne for all three numbers!
Anne’s hit “After All These Years” originally kindled the friendship between the two young women, with Anne often accompanying live Rosalynn’s farewell tour as a “Star On Ice” in 1999. The song also puts words and music to the bridal couple’s long engagement: the perfect choice for the bride’s walk down the aisle on her father’s arm. Just as Rosalynn feels Anne’s own “Lucky Girl” couldn’t be more appropriate to express her happiness once the couples’ vows are exchanged! And Jim’s “Gift” to the newlyweds will be the first song they will dance to in the resort’s wonderful ballroom after dinner... More details next week- after the show!!
